Halloween is so much more fun as a grownup when you have a kid to share it with. Aili didn’t have a clue what was going on, but we enjoyed it on her behalf. We took her out trick-or-treating to visit a few of our wonderful neighbours, and had a record number of visitors ourselves! We actually ran out of candy.
And for those who are wondering, yes, Aili did actually get some candy from her trick-or-treating, but she didn’t get to eat any. We figured (1) sugar before bed? and (2) why set her palate for junk food so early? We’re trying, with some challenges, to set healthy eating habits and preferences. I’m quite sure she didn’t know the difference.
But before the trick-or-treating, we went to the Mommy Group Halloween Party! It was so cute to see all our little friends in costume.
Kelda had the loveliest fairy wings.
Miss Kailynne was dressed up for a bit, but ended up sleeping through most of the festivities!
That Sam is such a deer.
Trinity is a sweet princess.
Zoe is a little punkin…
… and so is Madelyne!
I always knew Logan was a little monkey.
Rhys actually moves much faster that a turtle, don’t let his costume fool you.
Sophie is always cute, but especially cute as a bunny.
Brayden was Chewbacca.
And Alex is just a big teddy bear.
Group photo. And no, we’re not in it. Aili was having her lunch at the time.
Look at that spread!
And here is my little monster:
Are you scared?
So you can see the face. I sewed a pink bow and eyelashes on it so it would be more ‘girly’.
All dressed up and ready to go!
C’mon people, enough with the cameras. There is CANDY out there!!
I don’t know how but she knew that there was something happening out there, and that Halloween night was special.
Just a little dragon, waiting to go trick-or-treating.
